Which download format to pick
Seven formats, one line each on what they are for, and which plan they need.
Open a transcript, choose the tab you want to download â transcript, summary or translation â then click download. What you get depends on the format:
- TXT â just the words. Best when the text is going somewhere else anyway.
- JSON â text plus timing and structure, for feeding into another tool.
- Audio â the original file back. Useful when you uploaded from a phone and want a copy.
- DOCX â formatted for Word or Google Docs, with speaker labels kept. The usual choice for anything a person will read.
- PDF â fixed layout, for sending and archiving.
- SRT and VTT â subtitle files, covered in subtitles for video.
What each plan can download
TXT, JSON and the audio file are available on every plan. DOCX, PDF, SRT and VTT need Standard or Premium. On Free the download covers the five transcribed minutes, not the whole recording â see plans and prices.
Important
PDF export is unavailable for Chinese, Japanese and Korean text â the PDF fonts do not carry those characters and the file would come out empty. Use DOCX instead; it handles them correctly.
Astuce pro
Turn timestamps on before downloading if you want them in the file. TXT and DOCX follow what you have switched on in the transcript view; SRT and VTT always carry timing because that is what they are for.
